Zooom the Matterhorn

On the Gornergrat above Zermatt in Switzerland stands the valley station of the Hohtälli cable car, which has been unused for years. For our client, the Gornergratbahn, we transformed the building into a multimedia experience.

Here, everything revolves around the highlight of the region: the Matterhorn. From now on, visitors can experience the famous mountain and its impressive surroundings up close and in all weathers!

The adventure world offers three zoom levels to get closer to the Matterhorn.

Zooom 1: Virtual paragliding flight with 3D glasses in a floating chair.

Zooom 2: Immersive 3D cinema of the four seasons on the Matterhorn.

Zooom 3: Periscopes that bring you very close to the real top of the mountain.

The multimedia presentation is complemented by numerous exhibits that form a comprehensive exhibition about nature on the Gornergrat.

In this project, we succeeded in harmoniously combining media technology, (interior) architecture and exhibits. The overall concept explicitly embodies the closeness to nature in the surrounding mountains.
