ZDF - Capital Studio with Cold LED
The ZDF capital studio had a vision of flexible studio equipment and therefore set the bar very high for selecting a suitable system integrator. As a rule, public institutes have to select the lowest-priced provider in a Europe-wide tender. Due to the complexity, the department created the opportunity to participate in a special tender process. In the evaluation procedure, price was not the decisive factor. Rather, they relied on the right concept for their project. As a full-service provider with its own design and mechanics department, we were able to convince them with a detailed concept.
The requirement was for four LED walls of different sizes. These were to be usable both individually and in combination in a wide variety of ways. This allows various studio formats to be set up quickly and flexibly. Due to the enormous heat development in the studio, an energy concept for the LED wall was also desired.
These requirements were solved by a movable construction with complex mechanics and pneumatics, as no gaps may occur when assembling the walls. A 50 m² Cold LED wall with 1.5 mm pp was developed for this purpose together with an LED manufacturer in China.
Design, product development, production, installation and commissioning were all carried out in-house by our own departments. The same applies to service and maintenance of the complex system.
